Re: Indie Game Contest
If Ebay wasn't so screwed up and was like it used to be, it would be easy to just throw it up on the there and sell it. As it is now, though, people are better off just selling it on Amazon (which I do with almost all of my used games). You can get about 10% less than what Gamestop sells it for used, instead of getting 10% of what they sell it for used.

you can sell games on amazon? I didnt know this, of course I don't deal with amazon very much.
Yes ebay is garbage now. The seller pays so many fees and the rules are so goofy its hard to deal properly.

Maybe for him. We were only trading it in if we could find something new to buy, he just got a bit antsy. Of course this was back in the days before gamestop.SpiritWebb wrote: Thats a FML post right there...that sucks!

No, it was at a small time place that ended up getting replaced by a gamestop lol.
Gamestop pretty much bought everything.

Hah, you guys have EB games too, they are the big boys for games down here. Geez those guys down here are nothing different, i remember like 5-6 years ago when you could walk into there trade in practically ANY two games and get like a 50% discount on any game. Nowdays you can go all in trading 5 brand new games and theyl give you like the US equivalent of like 30 bucks off.
I don't believe in trading games at all lol, when you buy something at like its full price why should you have to sell it at like a 90% depreciated value... i will just wait until all the games become vintage and rare
(if it ever happens haha)

Yes, EB Games (Electronics Boutique as it used to be called) was bought up by Gamestop. The only difference is that they made decisions by area as to which would be rebranded as Gamestops and which would remain EB. If EB was prominent in the area and Gamestop was unknown (such as Chattanooga, TN), they would remain EB Games, although they are the exact same company.
And yes, you can sell used games quite easily on Amazon. When you click on the "12 Used from $14.99", those are almost always just users selling their stuff (they have reputation percents and everything). Amazon has made a serious move in on Ebay's territory, and Ebay has dropped the ball so bad I think it is working. Last time I used Ebay, 50% of the links in the customer service page were broken, CS never responded, their ad placement page repeatedly crashed Firefox (you know that is bad), one page contradicted another, everything was so "safe" that sellers had to worry about actually getting their money (which would fairly easily stay in limbo with Ebay), they triple charged me, their rates were high, the one time I got in touch with CS the person was a complete idiot, etc. I could go on for days. I just wanted to sell 2 things and it ended with a BBB complaint.

oh wow! I went to UTC for a bit, lived on sand mountain and worked in Tifftonia. Crazy! I went on vacation there a few months ago. Went to the aquarium and stuff.
