Hurricane Isaac
I may go silent for the next few days as I am in the path of Tropical storm soon to be a hurricane Isaac. Getting prepped and ready for clean up.
Re: Hurricane Isaac
I saw the track projections yesterday and thought of you. Hope you get through everything OK!

Re: Hurricane Isaac
Good luck with it! Most of the news is saying it shouldn't break 100 mph winds, and thus will hopefully just be a strong rain storm, but of course I never trust the news 100% when it comes to hurricanes. We were burnt on Hurricane Ike by the news here in Houston, with them telling us it was supposed to both shrink and slow down by the time it made land fall. It was supposed to hit as a Category 1 at under 100 mph, but instead it hit as a gigantic Category 4 at 145 mph and was the 2nd most costly hurricane in US history.
Obviously not trying to worry you, but just stating the typical plan for these things: Hope for the best, but plan for the worst. My family always tries to have 2 weeks worth of non-perishable food on hand, even if the news is calling it a category 1. But on the plus side, Isaac is not a monster in the Gulf that the forecasters are promising will shrink like Ike was. Instead it is a Tropical Storm that will probably become a Category 1, so I will say they are probably right.

Whatever happens, hope you are safe... but please send some of the leftover rain up here to Kansas
We got a couple inches of rain over the weekend and that's the first measurable rainfall we've had in weeks. The cracks in my yard are growing by the day

Every region has their issues. Inland areas are in a drought or are having massive wild fires. The hurricane isn't actually that bad. I thought I was going to miss Dragon Con but looks like I might make it!
