I'm new to the forums, but like the community so far.
I stumbled across these forums when googling one of my own projects out of boredom, and found a thread talking about my game engine cloudrealms, which I have neglected over the course of a year. Seeing the thread I saw people were still interested in such a game engine, I have started back development and made several updates since then.
I continued to return to these forums, checking out post, I now check regularly while I work.
Anyways about me, I've been into coding and hacking for sometime, even since grade school. I later joined the Marines and went to school for robotics and embedded systems, worked a few jobs in the robotics field, and did not like it, but found more fun and interest in computer science with design patterns, and solving problems. I currently work full time as the lead developer for a digital intelligence agency called VUURR in Chandler, AZ. I have worked with several programming languages from C, Java, Python, PHP, Javascript, and even very low level languages like assembly and different machine codes.
Continuing, I have always had a interest in game development, but not the real proper knowledge on it which got me started working on cloudrealms which will be a web based mmo engine, from there I wanted to move into more game development on the web and off. With cloudrealms I have learned some new game development techniques, and learning how all the math goes into making a game.
Well that's the basics, I look forward to being apart of the indie game development community, and contributing more of what I learn back.
I have a github profile and website with little projects I start. I want to make more, but need to manage my time better. Always looking for contributors on projects as well.

WOW FIRST REACTION reading your message: MARINES + ROBOTICS
I love robotics, can you tell me why didn't u liked the job? (Don't take this as a personal question like trying to know your life and stuff, i just want to know so i don't go in a trap or something
)
Then, WORKING in a digital intelligence agency that sounds very badass
I hope you feel the same way hehe
Anyway, welcome to this website, i'm not a oldie here but i think i can say hello
And a hint: This community rocks (you should know that already by signing up)
Welcome and hope you go more into that will-power for game dev.

Welcome! Very cool that our finding Cloud Realms in a round-about way sparked your interest to keep development going and actually lead you here! Welcome to the forums!
Also, I wanted to clarify something for the Browser-based MMO Engine list I maintain: I don't know where I got the idea that the original CloudRealms and the CI-powered update were being done by 2 different people, but apparently that is what I put in the list haha. So you started the project, and are also the developer adding CodeIgniter to it, right? If so, I will update the list so it is accurate

Yeah I developed the original then decided I needed to structure the engine better so I moved it into CI, although the framework I originally wrote still Isn't half bad for use.Jackolantern wrote:Welcome! Cool! I will get it updated!
EDIT: Also, is there anything you want to add to your listing, such as any other websites or information?
