ASP.Net MUD

I have been holding off on the ASP development side of things at my day job for sometime. I do have two clients that are Microsoft shops that I do some work with .Net but for the most part have been strictly lamp stack developing.

Well the time has come and I can no longer hold off. By the end of the year I will be head long into .Net and required to build and maintain some sites and SQL databases. To get me prepared I am taking my current HTML5 MUD and rebuilding it with ASP.Net and C#. Yeah I know throw rotten tomatoes at me but I got to learn it and this is the best way I learn. So look for some updates soon. Should be fun, I love to learn by doing so am excited a little.

I am working on a updated MMORPG Browser Based series as well using PHP, JS, HTML, and Jquery so no worries on that side of things.

Anyone have any good cheap ASP webhosts they can recommend?

Quick question: Will you be able to use ASP.NET MVC or is it Web Forms? I am not much of a fan of Web Forms due to how much it messes with client-side code. If you could use ASP.NET MVC, I think you would like it much better. ASP.NET MVC is awesome, even if it does have a big learning curve.

If you have an MSDN subscription through your job, you can now access Pluralsight training for free, which has the best video tutorial series I have ever seen on ASP.NET MVC (and support technologies such as LINQ and Entity Framework).

As far as hosting goes, I have heard lots of good things about discountsasp.net. The only ASP.NET host I ever used no longer exists haha
