Not that I have done much web design (I am definitely not a designer), but I have heard so many horror stories, and this sums them all up pretty well:

You know you have problems when the client wants to integrate a "dog stream of conscious" added to the site.

I have that poster hanging over my desk, because it is very true.

Yeah, I saw they make a poster of it and was tempted, as it really applies to any similar endeavor, such as programming for clientsOoZI wrote:I have that poster hanging over my desk, because it is very true.

Oh my GOD.. that client... this actually makes me think that somewhere in the world there are people like that.. And that makes me very sad.. first how they became CEO of anything? second, if a client hires you, he should trust you right? So.. why don't you show your design, and just fuck it.. Do you want it? fine, you want to make some "minor" changes? Screw you.
Funny poster though.

Funny poster though.
I imagine having it behind me like in a frame behind my seat, like a motivational posterOoZI wrote:I have that poster hanging over my desk, because it is very true.

At least as a programmer, they still have to go through you. Few non-programmer clients are going to demand "Ok, open up the code! I want to make some changes!".

Funny, though it's has the unstated subext of the designers snobbery on the matter. The client goes overboard precisely because the designer both wants to appear as if he listens, yet he's really going to do it his way. Because he wont just say 'were doing it my way, now please remain still' but instead keeps attempting to appear to listen, the client goes blah blah blah on and on. Sorry, like an author I like says, when someone points a finger, I tend to follow the knuckle instead of the nail.
