Agile wtf

Post by hallsofvallhalla »

How in the heck do you promote coding practices with a website like this? Come on Agile is used by so many companies yet they won't even update their website since 1991?

That is pretty awful :P But is this website some kind of authority on Agile? I thought the books that introduced Agile were more seen as the de facto standard.

hmm not sure. I seen where you can "join the movement" or something so thought it was the main site.

It's the manifesto that defined agile development, as for being the standard I've no idea as there was "agile" before there was "agile".

As for the design well I doubt it has been edited since it's conception, so looks pretty standard for early 2000s, at least software craftsmanship looks a little prettier. :P

I've never really "gotten" the whole agile thing. What's the big deal about it?

There isn't a lot of point if you work by yourself or one or two other people on your own projects. It is basically a different methodology for how large teams can more easily create large software projects while basically building-in a lot of the common problems and their solutions into the process.
