Game Maker

Post by Mech200 »

I prefer game maker to those who are not extremely skilled with programming or do not even know how to program at all, and to those who just prefer a faster way of programming. Game maker provides its own coding language and tutorials, as well as drag-and-drop functions to help beginners. You can practically make anything with this engine, and there have been awesome 3d and MMORP games made with it, though it is mainly 2d, and if you try using too many polygons when making a 3d game, it lags too much to really play, unless the user has a really good gaming computer.

Yes Game maker is quite the program. I recommend it for 2d games. The fact that it is free makes it even better. If you know it well you should make some tutorials on it!

Game Maker is pretty good. I used it for a while, until I found Construct. Seen some pretty cool stuff made with it though, including the 3D MMO.

Isn't the free GM a watered-down version of a pay program?

not by much. It has a few features missing and it shows a GM logo at the beginning of your game.

With the free as halls said the GM logo, you cannot create your own splash screen, and there are features that can come in quite handy that are disabled. But for a FREE maker, hardly any programming required. (In fact you can do an entire game with no programming) I enjoy it!!

GameMaker is good, and quality. Though I find it out dated, Its like Tv to HDTV, Tv is perfectly fine and comes out great, but its not the best out there. Though I do enjoy a free tv haha except it costs to get more channels
