Is it just me or should SEGA stick to making Sonic games...

Keep it clean but fun.

Theres nothing wrong with side scrolling 3d either, if they want 3d so theyre thought of as next gen they could have backgrounds that look 3d, so maybe a 2.5d sonic game would be good? I guess there wouldnt be any chance of that though, I bet people have already suggested it to them and they ignored it.

anyone old enough to remember the NES and Sega wars? Back when you were either a Sega fan or NES fan. I was NES because I hated Sega. The games were all so stupid. Shadow Run was the only good game on Sega IMO.

Oh yes...I remember NES...but I also remember the old Atari 2600.

But I remember the NES and Sega wars! :) NES was my favorite system. I liked Sega simply for the Sonic 1 & 2 games, along with NBA Jam and Star Trek TNG.

In fact, I still have an NES at home

I had Pong that you hooked to the TV... can't even remember the company that made the console now. But you could play pong and hockey both! It rocked!! :)

Then I got the Atari 2600 which totally sucked, but it was the best thing out at the time. Then I got into computers, starting with an Atari 400, membrane keyboard, cassette tape drive, and hooked to the TV. It had this great game called Star Raiders that was awesome! I spent a lot of time with that machine, eventually upgraded it to an Atari 800 with 64K RAM! (woot!)

About that time the NES came out, so I had to get one of those of course :) Played the heck out of that for about a year, then stuck it in the closet.

Played computer games ever since then, up until about 3 years ago. Then my son got old enough that he got into games... since then, for Christmas/birthdays, we have bought (in order) Gameboy Advance, PS2, PS3, Nintendo DS, Nintendo WII, XBox 360 and a PSP. He plays them all and loves them. A couple weeks ago he found our old NES in the closet. I dragged it out, hooked it up and it still works, so now he's enjoying all those old games too. :)

I have every intention on having my little brother/sister brainwashed from the moment it is born to love the xbox 360 and worship it relentlessly, just because my step-dad hates xbox and loves ps3. (I like both xbox and ps3 but its fun to argue about it  )

Also by 9 months my brother/sister will be trained in the ancient art of the wii-mote

Are you guys talking about SNES vs. Sega Genesis, or NES vs. Sega Master System? The latter was a joke, and Sega got steamrolled in the US. However, due to NES supply issues to Europe and South America, Sega got a good foothold with the Master System (SMS), and ended up doing quite well in some of those regions. The SMS died after only about a year in the US, but the US Game Gear kept getting ports of SMS games released in Europe and S. America, like Sonic 1 & 2.
