What is your price range? That would be the determining factor.

nVidia GTX 275. Cheap and really good.

I agree, that's what I run, but he said his limit is 100 quid..This is going to be more than that.Chris wrote:nVidia GTX 275. Cheap and really good.
You might be able to find a GTX 265 for cheaper, but for your price you're probably looking at the 9800GT range.

Yeah, GTX 275 is nowhere near $168 (more like double that). GTX 260 would be a stretch.
This is a wonderful site that compares tons of different benchmarks of different games. You can choose what you want to benchmark with, and choose mainstream or high-end cards (you will probably be focusing on high-end, even for $170). I never buy a video card without consulting charts like these, because sometimes you are paying a hundred bucks more for a 5% performance increase.
There is not a huge performance difference between a GTX 260 and a 9800 GTX, but you can pick up the 9800 dirt cheap these days.

Re: i need a new gfx card.
I doubt you can utilize all the 9800 GTX....I slightly doubt it. Its a beast of a machine and can play anything on the market. Heck the 8800 is still smoking on new games.
Re: i need a new gfx card.
You can probably find some 4850 cards on sale now when the 5000 series is out...very nice card for the price. I run all max in CoD: MW2 without problems with it, quite good for something that I gave $100 for 1 year ago

Doesn't matter what you buy. The 275 will remain the best value. Id go for the stretch and get it. If you want to be cheap the best for around 100$ I could recommend would be the Radeon HD5770. Although it may go fast, don't expect the quality you get with nVidia. I also heard that new 5000 series from radeon have really noisy fans. But they do support DX11.
