Runescape Private Server

Post by Baseball435 »

Hey everyone. I'm sure probably all of you have heard or runescape and maybe played. Well there are servers (private) you can make and edit to your liking using the runescape base and have people connect. It really Ives you a feel for being in charge and having complete access to everything. You have a source and a client and a server ip using no-ip.com. Then you need to port forward to host a server so that people can connect. You have the source which you can edit, add commands, add coustom items, add anything you really want. If you would want to play one you would have to go to (*** REMOVED PM TO FINd OUT LINK! ***), find a server in the list that is online. Go to (*** REMOVED PM TO FIND OUT LINK! ***), put the server ip you found into there and leave the port as 43594. Then pick whatever password and username and you want. Then have fun. I have a server which is online a lot. The server ip is dark-dag.no-ip.org. All of these servers are coded in java, yes java but it's extremely simple to understand and I started not know anything about java to editing everything in the server. If you want to make one go to (*** REMOVED PM TO FIND OUT LINK! ***) and then go tutorial and start a server or go to google and type in moparscape forums. Has anyone else played this, tried it, or made one?

There are many games that have emulated servers (aka private servers), not just Runescape, including Dark Age of Camelot, World of Warcraft, Everquest, Ragnarok, Maplestory, Ultima Online and others. I tried logging into a couple a few years ago and was appalled at how bad the communities were for them. If you asked a question, you basically got laughed at set to a chorus of people telling you to F off. Also, while I don't want to start the old, never-ending legality question, they do straddle a gray area of the law, and the defense that people reason they are legit is unproven in court. Run one at your own risk.

Yes that is true, and yes most games have private servers like I have played on a maplestory one before. But in runescape private servers (rsps) the communities are nice and friendly. And yes it technically isn't legal but there's lot of people that have them and even make money off of them. And they are rather fun to mess around on :p

I straddle the fence on this. I do not mind you boasting about using a private server but please do not link on how to build your own or link advertise the servers. You may talk about them all you want but I do not want to see links of advertisement. I will allow you to remove any such links. If anyone wants to know have them PM you.
