Bot Problem

Post by Last Known Hero »

Sorry for the spam bot (ferdinandsta) that has entered the site. I have deleted over 40 of his posts today, unfortunetly some of yours were deleted to since I wanted to get rid of the topic overload.

Unfortunetly I cannot ban him, only Halls has the power to do that or atleast I am not sure how to. I have PMd halls about it, so not everyone start sending him PMs about it. It will be taken care of as soon as Halls comes back.

Please hang in there with us, it's not very often that we get a bot in here, this one is a problem though.

I just looked to see if there was a way to ban him, and your right, we cannot. Only thing we can do is delete his posts...

I'll be trying to control his post count for the next hour or so before I need to sleep, so please refrain from posting in any of his topics :) I hate deleting actual members posts but I don't want his threads around here.

@SpiritWebb
Your definetly right, I took a look earlier to see if I could but the most I could see was his IP posting address and he's posting from alot of different ones, so an e-mail ban might need to be put in place. We'll talk to Halls about our privilages, plus I want green text XD

If you go to the User Control Panel, and then to the usergroups, just change it over from registered users to Moderator and save, it will change your name to green!! ;)

I deleted one more of his posts...there was another one in Help and Support that I was unsure of.

Yeah this guy is really annoying. Wish I could do something to help and sadly you can't ban this guy. Hopefully halls will be on here soon. It seems like the person who sent the bot seemed to know halls so maybe halls could try matching ip's with another member
