Figured I would share this with everyone:

Apparently they are working with Indies, or well anyone who is building a game with Unity and letting them take your completed game and sell it. If it makes money, you make money. 80% commission to the creator of the game. No cost to join, they take 20% as their cost. Worth a glance at.

Re: Union
Personally, 20% is way too much.
$300 for bigworld and only 10% royalties. If your game earns more than $3000 ((.2-.1)*100*$300), then you are better off with big world. This of course is only factoring in the finances, but in essence you don't want to have any royalties. Royalties make licensing it (for free or shareware, etc.) extremely annoying.
Of course, if these royalties were only for sales that they drove, it isn't a problem, but I'll have to see the licence to make sure.
My opinion is that if you are going to develop with Unity, then you're not going to give away 20% profits even if you are going to give the game out for free (the licence will probably prohibit this).
Thanks for the link and bringing this up though, I'm sure 20% is worth a thought for some people.

Interesting for sure. But I have to agree, 20% is STEEP.
And you can quote me on this:
And you can quote me on this:
Companies need to think of it like this:
Would you rather have one client with 20% commission on $3000/client and keep $600
or
10 clients with 2% commission on $3000/client and still keep $600?
I would opt for the 10 clients, much more likely to have the 10 spread the word than 1.

When they say sell it, they don't mean sell individual copies. They mean selling it to publishers.

Hero Engine Basic is soon to be released which is 30% but they give you the best mmo engine to date and handle all the payments and things.
Can't beat that with a wooden spoon.

@Pax: If you self publish then Union isn't of much use to you. To note, steam takes a reasonable percentage also though.
@Halls: I agree there. Payments and all that stuff will by far be the biggest drain, sure paypal looks simple but to scale you start needing a staff.
