Re: Is this the nerd economy?
I will have to probably read the article tomorrow or later tonight, but I can already do ahead and say I totally think so. And not just because I am a software developer, but because literally everything is moving to computers and the internet. People used to say the same thing about 10 years ago, but now no one can deny it. While almost every other profession is still needed (except maybe VCR repair lol), they are going to be paired with developers to create the software needed to do business.
Security professionals are also seeing a widening of their future. As everything moves to the web and computers as previously stated, more and more highly sensitive materials and functions are also finding their way there, which means even more bullet-proof security is needed, and professionals need to be on hand when it fails.
The future looks good for us, and even the US government recognized it by finding IT and CS jobs to be the fastest growing in their last career outlook report
