Movies you might have missed

Post by hallsofvallhalla »

Was looking for some good movies I haven't seen yet so I thought I would make a post to gather everyone's movies picks. Remember these are Movies you might have missed not Hollywood blockbusters unless they were better than expected.

My number 1 movie of all time

Equilibrium...You MUST see this.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0238380/

This one was pretty popular but older so you younger folks might have missed it...my number two movie of all time
The 13th Warrior. Book was good too. The eaters of the dead. Micheal Criten.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0120657/

Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil...Friggn hilarious!
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1465522/
Will post more when I remember them... Post some for me to Watch! Especially scary ones. So sick of Gore = Scary.

Some good ones I like that many have probably not seen:

"Attack the Gas Station!" is a Korean comedy that is really kind of hard to explain. One of the main plot points, at least early on is that a band of street thugs decide to rob a gas station....that they just robbed the day before. Things begin to go downhill from there lol.

"Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels" is one of my favorite movies of all time. It is a dry, witty British comedy about drug dealers, arm dealers, underground poker tournaments and pretty much everything else seedy you can possibly think of. The entire thing is genius, and it is a beloved movie. Quite a bit better than its successor (although not sequel), "Snatch", in my opinion, although Snatch is higher on IMDB. Its score of 8.2 on IMDB should show many others love it, too! However, I will say right now that you will likely need to see it twice to understand everything that is going on. It is one of the most complex caper films ever.

That is all I can think of for the moment, but they are both worth checking out!

13th Warrior is great! Also like Snatch/Lock, Stock, 2 Smoking Barrels. Beware of any man who keeps a pig farm!

My relatively obscure picks:

Campy sci-fi movie: Ice Pirates, a bit of an old one now (back in the 80s) but it's a good one.

If you're into time travel movies at all, you gotta watch Primer. It's a short film, but it's very strange and very well done. Used to be able to watch it free online, not sure if that's still the case.

The Star Trek movies, starting with the Motion Picture in 1979 and on. Don't forget those! :P It is amusing to look at it now, with our current technology and seeing what we have surpassed, and what we haven't even achieved yet. Finite humans.
