Freelancer

Post by hallsofvallhalla »

I have asked this before but anyone here played it or still do? The best space game ever made. I always go back to it.

Was one of the first and only 3d game where you could literally edit what you wanted. Add your own models, weapons, solar systems, ect.. all through txt files. It is over 10 years old and still has a huge following. Only problem is that you cannot find the game any more.

Anyone know if this is okay?

Believe me or not, I was working on a 2D game with Silverlight with the idea to bring something similar... Yet I stopped due to Silverlight, lack of ideas how to make it fun, and lack of interest of my current community.

similar to Freelancer in silverlight? Would be awesome except that I think Silverlight is dead. But bringing any version of freelancer to the web is a win,

I never played it, but read the Wikipedia page. Did you see that an unofficial sequel called Star Citizen is supposedly coming out next year?

Indeed I told you I stopped due also to Silverlight. I still believe it could be interesting, yet it was 2D and I come to think that unless you do it in 3D (or fake 3D) it will not be fun enough. Anyhow cubicverse is now eating all my time and effort, and I will really stick on it till release.
