This is my log using Unity. This is my first test run. I also know the scene is a little dark, but I am working on that...
The controls are:
z - moves forward
x - stops
mouse - rotates camera.

I will be updating the same file as I go...

Re: Spirit's Log:
How do you know that your actually moving?
You should help give the player a sense of movement

Re: Spirit's Log:
I'm already working on that...like I said, this was just a test run. I am learning how to set down particle system for use as stars, so when you move, it appears your passing them. (IE. Star Trek standing in ten forward).
I will be working on it some more tonight to get some other things in there so you know your moving. Like asteroids or something, idk. Maybe just temp cubes that lead you towards the three worlds that are in the scene.
I also have to correct the light source. I used a directional light to give the appearance of the sun, but the light is on the same location for every planet regardless of where the light is at, so have to find a way to correct this. The sun that you see near the one planet is a point light with a flare.

Ok great, can't wait to see more.
Any idea of where you want to go with this project?

Re: Spirit's Log:
All this I'm doing, is testing for the game that my team and I are building. Eventually after all said and done, I would like to have similar graphics as what Star Trek Online is doing with their game.
http://startrekonline.com/screenshots - just to show some examples of where I want to take this.
I want to be able to leave the ship and walk on worlds, communicate with other players, etc. We decided today that we are going to use the Smart Fox Server Pro with their .NET API extension for Unity.

Ok cool cool man. Hope to see more.
Me myself am not a trekkie, i'm more for star wars though I'm not really. Just to say, though that is a cool graphic style for space-sci-fi
Are you going for a mmo kinda thing or just multiplayer?
