I used to use CS3 (my wife uses it for digital photography) but I use GIMP now - from what I've seen so far, it's just about as powerful as CS3 was and it's free :)

Just get a download of Photoshop of torrents and your sorted. I'd advise getting the whole CS4 master collection. With dreamweaver and flash aswell.

or do it the right way and pay for the products or go for the free ones.

I'm not going to pay for something if I can get it free. Plus, when you pay you might get a few privelages, but it's not as if you're going to make use of them. Also I could get a free legit copy of CS4 of school, but why bother :D.

You'd feel differently if you worked months or years on writing a program and then put it for sale only to have people download it for free.

Whether or not you can get it for free is irrelevant. It's the *right* thing to do to pay for software you use.
