Yeah I thought so, wasn't 100% sure though - MX just looks a little different but is yeah, practically the same deal.
In that case the coding behind it should be fairly simple.
I have attached a scrap sample off the top of my head (I am still assuming spirit is referring to health bars or the like)
- from the attached .fla i hope you can make from it what you need to make your own system work - this is just a general base (has a few fixable bugs) and is open to become much more dynamic. If you can't really understand it let me know - I will have to find the time to make a tutorial for it inside my RPG tutorial series, so see how you go.
Goodluck.

Re: Flash
I downloaded the .zip file, but when I try to open the file in flash, it tells me unexpected file format, and closes. I cannot unfortunately open the file. I have attached a sample file from a game, to where I was referring to the HUD system. The HUD system is located both at the top and bottom, this does not move. I'm trying to figure out how to create a HUD that doesn't move, but the center does for game play.Agent wrote:Yeah I thought so, wasn't 100% sure though - MX just looks a little different but is yeah, practically the same deal.

Re: Flash
I've only used Flash a few times, but maybe you could put the HUD on a separate layer from the game.

I never would have thought about that...now i feel like i just got hit by a truck...lol...Sakar wrote:I've only used Flash a few times, but maybe you could put the HUD on a separate layer from the game.
Re: Flash
lol, the first thing they told us in college in animation, whn using flash, try having each and every separate piece on a different layer, keeps it tidy and stops it all moving at once when you dont want it to.

Re: Flash
Im just starting out learning flash now. Another question I have is how to set a background with an image, and be the exact size of the screen. I know how to import to stage, but I dont know how to make it a background, instead of the solid color background.
Re: Flash
just use a new layer, but make sure to have them in the order you want to see them, the bottom on the list will appear at the back, and the top will show at the very front, im not entirely sure if or how to make the background an image instead of a colour but a background layer has always worked fine for me

Re: Flash
Now is there a way to control the sprite using the mouse to move, like a point - click - move, instead of using the keyboard?
